PERSONAL DATA

He was born in 1953 in the Tovuz region. From 1960 to 1970 studied at a secondary school in the city of Agstafa. In 1977 he graduated from the Geography Department of the Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.

In 1977 he was recruited senior laboratory assistant in the Department of Nature Conservation of the Institute of Geography of the ANA, in 1978 he became a junior research fellow of the same department.

in 1979 he was accepted to the post of assistant of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of the USSR Azerbaijan State University. In 1986 he was elected to the post of senior lecturer, and in 1987 as assistant professor at the same department. In the same year he was awarded the scientific title-associate professor.

In 1987 he became the deputy dean of the Geological and Geographical Faculty, and in 1991 the dean of the newly formed Geographical Faculty.

In 1999, he was appointed pro-rector for correspondence and evening education, and from 2004-2011 he worked as a pro-rector for the academic part. At the same time since 2008 he is the head of the department "Geography of Azerbaijan and the methods of teaching geography".

Since 2006, he was a member of the Dissertational Council of the Geographical Institute of ANAS, the Grand Academic Council of BSU, a member of the editorial board of the Izvestia of BSU, the chairman of the Geographical Division of the Scientific and Methodological Council under the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan.

He is married and has two children.

In 1977 he graduated from the Geographical Faculty of the Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov.
1985 - defended his thesis on the topic "Territorial organization of the outer zone of the Baku agglomeration"
2004 - defended his doctoral thesis on "Economic and geographical problems of urbanization in Azerbaijan"
2009 - received the title of professor

The author of 6 monographs, 13 textbooks and teaching aids in Azerbaijani and Russian languages, 5 maps, about 200 scientific articles and abstracts, 6 methodical aids and 25 programs. Under the guidance of prof. Efendieva V.A. 6 dissertators and doctoral students defended and received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Geography.
